This project is located on the Baltic coast of Europe for the Eastern European market and addresses the issue of fluctuating electricity supply through an efficient energy storage system. By introducing a 2.5MW/4MWh energy storage system, it provides a flexible power storage and release solution for the grid in an environment of 15-minute electricity price fluctuations. The project is designed for a small-scale pilot in the early stage, which will provide strong support for the stable operation of the local power system and renewable energy access.

The project is primarily driven by a combination of dynamic pricing mechanisms and technological cost reductions, actively participating in the Nordic Power Exchange to achieve a profit model based on peak-valley arbitrage.

Project Advantages

Significant peak-valley price differential arbitrage opportunities: Container energy storage systems capture price differentials through a ‘charge during off-peak hours, discharge during peak hours’ strategy, directly generating economic benefits. This project leverages the high integration of container systems, Europe’s mature dynamic pricing mechanisms, and energy storage technology. Through precise ‘charge low, discharge high’ cross-time arbitrage operations, combined with modular design and precise charge/discharge control, it maximises returns. This demonstrates the technical capabilities of container energy storage in optimising returns.

Efficient energy storage and intelligent management: By introducing a 4MWh energy storage cabinet and energy management system, the system can intelligently schedule the charging and discharging processes of batteries, improving energy storage efficiency and providing sufficient power during peak load periods or times of high electricity demand.

Flexible Grid-Connected and Off-Grid Functionality: The system’s grid-connected/off-grid switching functionality can automatically adjust based on actual needs, ensuring the energy storage system can flexibly provide stable power under varying electricity demands and grid conditions, thereby enhancing power supply reliability.

Resistance to Harsh Environments: The container cabinet is designed with C5 protection rating, effectively dustproof and waterproof, and capable of withstanding and adapting to the humid climate of the Baltic Sea region.

Rapid delivery and customised services: The project has a delivery timeline of 65 days, with the entire process from design, equipment supply to installation and commissioning being swift and efficient. Customers can customise the system according to their specific needs to ensure it is optimally suited to their application scenarios.

Safety and durability: The system is equipped with high-standard safety protection measures, including multiple protections such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature, ensuring safe operation of the equipment under various complex conditions. Additionally, high-quality energy storage equipment is used to extend the system’s service life.
